The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) was founded in 1890. Our local Janesville Chapter, founded in 1895, is the second oldest DAR chapter in Wisconsin. We are a nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
Our monthly meetings are held at the historic Janesville Woman’s Club from September to May (except January), usually on the second Saturday of the month. Our programs are open to the public and are followed by light refreshments. We ask that you contact us in advance if you would like to attend a meeting so that we can make you feel properly welcome.
You can learn more about the eligibility requirements of joining here. And don't forget to check out what we've been up to most recently on our blog. We look forward to welcoming prospective members to our chapter!
Our Chapter participates in Wreaths Across America. The Wreaths Across America Day is December 13th, 2025 at 11am. We will have a ceremony at the Veterans Section of Oak Hill Cemetery, then lay the wreaths. This is open to the public and everyone is welcome to volunteer to help lay the wreaths.
